President
Ian is the President of Sunrise Fire Protection, bringing two decades of hands-on experience in the fire protection industry. Since 2005, Ian has specialized in fire sprinkler systems, working closely on projects ranging from remodels to small ground-up buildings. His passion for precision, safety, and quality craftsmanship is evident in every job the company takes on.
Ian began his professional journey studying mechanical engineering, which laid a strong technical foundation for his career in fire protection. Over the years, he developed a reputation for being meticulous and detail-oriented — and believes that doing the job right the first time is non-negotiable.
As the second-generation leader of the business, Ian is deeply committed to maintaining the company’s reputation for integrity, reliability, and personal service. Under his leadership, the company continues to deliver thoughtful, code-compliant, and efficient fire protection solutions tailored to the needs of each project.
Outside of work, Ian values the legacy of family, the importance of strong client relationships, and the satisfaction that comes from a job well done.
Peter Vodenka
Vice President
Has been in the sprinkler industry since 1999 and has worked his way up from laborer to foreman and now owner. He spent 8 years in the Marine corps reserve and did a tour in Iraq during operation Iraqi freedom. He has a high level of professionalism and attention to detail, along with an unwavering work ethic.
Terry Ostby
Founder & Estimator
Terry Ostby is the founder of Sunrise Fire Protection, established in 1998 with a mission to provide reliable, high-quality fire protection services rooted in integrity and personal attention. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force who served during the Vietnam War, Terry brought discipline, work ethic, and a deep sense of responsibility to every aspect of the business.
Terry began his career in fire protection in the late 1980s, gaining extensive experience in the field before launching his own company. His vision helped shape Sunrise Fire Protection into the trusted, family-owned business it is today. Though now semi-retired, Terry continues to support the company part-time as an estimator, drawing on decades of industry knowledge and a natural ability to connect with people.
When he's not working, Terry splits his time between his lake house in Wisconsin and the sunshine of Ocala, Florida. A lifelong outdoorsman, he enjoys golfing, fishing, and spending quality time with family.
Terry’s approachable nature, love for people, and commitment to doing things right have left a lasting legacy — one that continues through the next generation of leadership.
